Supporting resilient and sustainable palm oil supply chains at RT2025
Proforest took part in the Annual Roundtable Conference on Sustainable Palm Oil (RT2025), reinforcing our commitment to building a sustainable palm oil supply chain that is both responsible and resilient.
Organised by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), RT2025 took place from 3–5 November 2025 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With the theme “Building the Next 20: Sustainability in Action”, the event gathered producers, traders, brands, suppliers, and researchers—all united in promoting certified sustainable palm oil.
A highlight for Proforest was the panel discussion on Mainstage Talk 1 – Rethinking Incentives: The Missing Link in Traceable and Inclusive Markets.
Our Associate Director, Bilge Daldeniz, Associate Director, along with Prof. Kimberly Carlson, Associate Professor, New York University; Ben Fargher, Group Sustainability Lead, Cargill Ag and Trading; Liza Murphy, Facilitator, Grower Incentives Task Force (GITF); and Nadine Stueber, Global Responsible Sourcing Lead, Nestlé, examined real-world examples of mechanisms such as price premiums, access to finance, risk-sharing, dealer inclusion and long-term contracts that can support smallholder inclusion.
Off the main stage, Proforest engaged with participants via our exhibition booth where we shared our latest thinking and technical insights in responsible sourcing and production. We showcased our latest briefing notes titled A Blueprint for Resilient Landscape Initiatives and Taking a Smart-Mix Approach to Action on Human Rights.
Proforest has provided technical support to RSPO since its inception, including facilitation of working groups, development of technical requirements and stakeholder consultation. Proforest is also an endorsed training provider for RSPO lead auditor certification courses.
