Congratulations to the HCV Resource Network

The Network was created in 2005 in order to bring together a wide range of stakeholders with an interest in HCVs – defined as biological, ecological, social or cultural values of outstanding significance or critical importance.

With members from the private sector, NGOs and multilateral organisations, the Network has promoted the HCV approach and worked towards a consistent and commonly understood approach to HCV identification, management and monitoring.

"We are thrilled to see how strong the Network has become."

Ruth Nussbaum, Proforest director

Since 2007, the HCV Resource Network has contributed to the wider sector in a number of key areas, including designing and launching the Assessor Licensing Scheme (ALS) to improve consistency and quality in HCV audits, and publishing a wide range of guidance. In 2013 the Network moved to a new membership structure.

The independent Network is now a non-profit company based in UK, with Rod Taylor of WWF International and Peter Gardiner of Mondi Group, appointed as directors. Both Rod and Peter were previously elected by Network members to be co-chairs of the management committee.

Independence has been made possible thanks to the technical, administrative and financial support provided by Proforest since 2007 as well as the many generous donors who have supported the Network since its creation in 2005.

Ruth Nussbaum, Proforest director said,

“At Proforest, we are incredibly excited to see the HCV Resource Network become an independent entity.

After eight years of providing the Secretariat for the Network, we are thrilled to see how strong the Network has become.”
