Description
As Deputy Director, you will lead our Responsible Sourcing & Production portfolio in Southeast Asia. You’ll guide projects, support partners, and work closely with the SEA Director to grow and strengthen our work in the region.
This role combines leadership, technical expertise and business development—while supporting a collaborative regional team.
What you’ll do
- Lead and grow the Responsible Sourcing & Production portfolio across Southeast Asia
- Deliver projects with companies and financial institutions on sustainable supply chains and responsible finance
- Oversee portfolio planning, budgets, resourcing and delivery quality
- Build relationships with clients, donors and industry stakeholders
- Drive new ideas in services, approaches and thought leadership
- Track sustainability, policy and market developments (including NDPE, EUDR)
- Represent Proforest at regional and global forums
- Support partnerships and business development
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in sustainable supply chains, agriculture, forestry and/or responsible finance
- Proven delivery of consultancy or sustainability projects with technical understanding of agricultural and forestry commodities supply chains
- Knowledge of finance and investment in agriculture/forestry, including financial institutions and instruments
- Experience managing portfolios, projects and teams
- Strong networks within the private sector
- Excellent English communication skills
- Willingness to travel within the region
Nice to have
- Experience improving supply chains or financing for sustainable agriculture/forestry
- Field experience in agriculture, forestry or landscape programmes
- Additional languages: Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin or Thai
