Ellen Griffiths

Ellen has a global communications role, working with our regional Communications Managers to link their work across the globe, and align messaging with our global strategy. She has a particular focus on our collaborative action work, which includes landscapes and sectoral engagement, as well as our finance and policy work.

Ellen joined Proforest in 2018, having worked previously at environmental NGO Global Canopy. Prior to that she worked for an Islamic art charity, The Barakat Trust, and is an Honorary Friend of that organisation. 

She has nearly 30 years’ experience in marketing, PR and operations in enterprises ranging from 1990s tech start-up MathEngine to a large American ISP before moving to the non-profit sector with Mencap and the University of Oxford's Wainwright Fund. Ellen has benefited from many voluntary experiences in France, America and Russia, and speaks English, French and is learning Portuguese.

She has a degree from the University of Oxford in French and History.
