Nikita holds an MSc in Forest and Nature Conservation Policy & Sustainable Development Diplomacy from Wageningen University. For her Master's thesis, she conducted qualitative field research in the Nicobar Islands (India) on the changes in knowledge and practices of the Nicobarese community. She has an interdisciplinary background in the social and policy aspects of climate change, nature conservation and agriculture. Over the last year, Nikita worked as the coordinator of a foundation at Wageningen University connecting the theory and practice of agriculture and agroecology – where she organised farm visits to learn about farming struggles and transitioning towards sustainable agriculture, by connecting people with farming and nature. Nikita is originally from India and is currently based in the Netherlands.
