Ruth Nussbaum

Ruth has been working with sustainable production and sourcing of natural resources for over three decades. She has extensive experience supporting companies in developing and implementing responsible production and sourcing programmes, advising governments and NGOs on responsible natural resource management and facilitating international and national multistakeholder processes to develop principles, standards and safeguards, as well as running a global forest certification programme and writing a range of guides and books.

Ruth has worked in more than 40 countries and has vast experience in developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and processes for delivering sustainable management and independent verification of natural resources. She is on the board of the decarbonisation investment company GenZero, and has previously been on the board of CLUA and advisory boards for Unilever, PepsiCo, APRIL, IDH and ISEAL. Ruth is a co-founder and director of Proforest.
