Oil palm stakeholders meet to discuss certification at Honduras workshop
The Proforest Initiative, together with ICADE, Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) and Hondupalma organised a workshop on oil palm certification in the department of Yoro, Honduras on 13 December 2012. Over 90 representatives of companies, NGOs, certification bodies and the Honduran government attended the workshop which aimed to exchange information, promote discussion and build capacity on certification and sustainable palm production in Honduras.

Third party scheme compliance with EU Timber Regulation
Proforest has assessed the compliance of certification and legality verification schemes with the new EU Timber Regulation legality requirements for the European Timber Trade Federation. The report concludes that none of the schemes currently deliver full compliance.

Stakeholders gather in Brazil for Sustainable Palm Oil Week
The Proforest Initiative, together with Imazon and the Green Municipalities Program of the State of Pará, organised a meeting on sustainable palm oil in Belém in Northern Brasil from 22nd to 24th October 2012. The event aimed to build capacity, exchange information and promote discussion on sustainable production and certification. It was attended by a wide range of stakeholders.

Sustainable Oil Palm week in Brazil
The Proforest Initiative, together with Imazon and the State of Pará is organising a technical meeting on sustainable palm oil in Belém, Pará, Brazil from 22 to 24 October 2012. The event aims to build capacity, share information and promote discussion on sustainable palm oil production and certification. The first day, Monday 22 October, is open to all interested parties.
